Under a law from 1861, it is illegal in the state of Pennsylvania to sell anything that promises luck/good fortune or anything being affected by spells, potions, or incantations. Tarot and Oracle readings are also illegal. This law is outdated and targets a particular spiritual practice, and is currently being fought for repeal. For legal purposes, I will be very clear about what I am selling. Many places add “for entertainment purposes only” on spell craft and tarot, and I will not be doing that because this is not just entertainment, it’s a spiritual practice. I sell tools that are to be used by people who also believe in this spiritual practice and use it for a variety of religions based in witchcraft. I am selling tools, not promises. Not quick fixes. These are tools for spiritual practices based in witchcraft and should be treated as such. My business is intended for practicing witches, new or experienced, who understand what is and isn’t realistic. I am not offering fake movie magic harry potter spells or magical fortune telling cards. I sell Tarot and Oracle cards – tools that provide spiritual insight subjective to the user. I sell Spells Jar kits – spell jars are like prayers. You ask for something and it may or may not happen. Spell jars use traditionally aligned ingredients and timing, as well as putting your intention (written or spoken) into your crafting. My kits are tools for personal intention-setting practices, and I do not guarantee your goals will manifest. My jar kits are not replacements for real world action to achieve your goals and not replacements for medical or psychological care. I sell crystals and herbs and list their metaphysical alignments. The use of crystals and herbs go back to ancient times and are still used today for their believed energetic alignment. I do not promise you they will work for you in the way they are traditionally aligned. This law is likely in place to prevent frauds who will collect your money and promise you something, with a little bit of fear of witches mixed in. I don’t promise anything with these tools – it is up to you to use to use them in a way that aligns with your spiritual practice, and up to you to decide if this type of spiritual practice works for you. Just because it works for one person doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. If you have never practiced any form of witchcraft before and feel like you will be highly disappointed if these items don’t immediately fix your life – then it is best not to purchase them from me or any other spiritual based witchcraft business.
